George Miller joined the firm in 1971 as partner and trial counsel after practicing in Chicago, primarily on the defense side of civil jury trials. He was admitted to the bar in 1956 after graduating from Harvard Law School. From 1976 to 1998 he was an adjunct professor at the University of Illinois College of Law teaching trial advocacy.
In 1981 the Supreme Court of Illinois appointed him as Circuit Judge of the Sixth Judicial Circuit (six counties, including Champaign). He retired from the bench in 1999 and became of counsel to the firm. He also independently offers mediation and arbitration services.
Judge Miller has been a lecturer at seminars conducted by the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education and the Illinois Judicial Conference. He was chair of the Insurance Section Council and the Bench and Bar Section Council and an Assembly Member of the Illinois State Bar Association.
